Data Sales, Products and Support
EUCLID can serve customers with needs over a larg area of interest, namely two ore more Countries.
In this case please contact your most convenient national network, which will act as your reference for
Euclid services. Each customer interested in one country only must contact the relevant country lightning
location network for related services.
EUCLID can provide real time lightning information, with visualization on a screen and on a chosen geographic
reference. The "real time" means a delay of some seconds from the lightning stroke. The area covered by the
real time visualization can be as large as the whole of Europe, showing lightning hitting the ground from
Palermo to the North Cape. This can be extremely useful if there are some decisions to make, such as safety
alert announcements, switch power lines or re-route air traffic. |

Lightning data plays an important role in safety and is increasingly being integrated into weather broadcasts.
Evidence has been found to support the fact that, where lightning begins, storm patterns are easily detected
for the most up to the minute accurate weather nowcasting.
EUCLID archives all the lightning information into a database and can suit any customers need with off
line data and can as well provide any kind of post process information, like evaluate the mean number
of flashes to ground or to tell how many lightning strokes hit in a particular area at a particular time.
Statistical maps and taylored-studies can be provided easily, based on the european wide lightning database. |
